Job Description

DLZ currently has a Right of Way Project Manager opening in Ohio


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Right of Way property acquisition project planning, budgeting, scheduling and establishing critical project objectives.
  • Direct Right-of-Way projects and assigned field personnel.
  • Coordinate all client contact and maintain working relationship at all levels throughout the project.
  • Track project financials.
  • Manage assigned project’s communications, database, meetings and reports.
  • Recruit and manage subcontractors as part of project teams.
  • Participate in public involvement meetings.
  • Initiate or assist in contract negotiations with clients and teaming partners.
  • Negotiate property rights with property owners.
  • Close real estate transactions.
  • Record transaction documents at County Records Office.
  • Prepare and conduct quality control review of acquisition package submittals.
  • Assist division manager in business development.
  • Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
  • Possess aptitude to act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years Right of Way relevant work experience
  • ODOT Prequalification's for Project Management and Negotiations and Closings required
  • Ability to obtain Title Research and Relocation prequalifications within one year desired
  • Prefer experience with Right of Way utility work
  • Familiar with various acquisition submittal packages and forms.
  • Notary Public Certification or able to obtain within 6 months required
  • Through working knowledge of 23 and 49 CFR, the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 and its amendments (the Uniform Act), and the ODOT’s policy and procedures dealing with all disciplines of right of way acquisition.
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills
  • Experience in a variety of project types, scale and complexity; following project from conception through completion.
  • Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements.
