Job Description

DLZ Corporation currently has an opening for an Entry Level Environmental Scientist in our South Bend, IN office.

  • Provide support to and work under close guidance of more experienced Environmental Scientists.
  • Assist in data collection, production and assembly of reports and proposals.
  • Review title, regulatory, governmental and historical data from available sources.
  • Perform site visits, reconnaissance and surveying to collect data.
  • Prepare reports of limited scope requiring basic knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in the specific narrow area of a given assignment.
  • Categorical Exclusion and Red Flag Investigation document preparation.
  • Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
  • Possess aptitude to act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor of Science degree, plus 40-hour OSHA Health and Safety Training for Hazardous Waste Site Operations, or
  • Associate of Science degree and 3 years of professional experience, plus 40-hour OSHA Health and Safety Training for Hazardous Waste Site Operations, or
  • Five years of professional experience with appropriate education, and 40-hour OSHA Health and Safety Training for Hazardous Waste Site Operations.
